The statue has appeared next to one of the main roads through Cwmbran.
A Cwmbran Life reader sent me the photos this afternoon.
Why has a Christ The Redeemer statue been placed alongside Cwmbran Drive? A card reading, “Everything Will Be Ok, Trust Me! Jesus” is hung from the arms.
The statue in Brazil is (according to Wikipedia) “30 metres (98 ft) high, excluding its 8-metre (26 ft) pedestal. The arms stretch 28 metres (92 ft) wide.”
The one by the roundabout near Aldi is a bit smaller than that but is still creating a reaction 🙂
Is the statue still there? Has it been spotted elsewhere in the town? Answers, comments and questions will be appreciated!
