Families are invited to step into the trees of Pontypool Park this Wednesday (8 July) for a magical outdoor storytelling session that brings one of Wales’ most thrilling legends to life.
Award‑winning storyteller Daniel Morden will share the epic tale of Gwion Bach, his daring escape from the goddess Cerridwen, and the extraordinary birth of Taliesin. Expect shape‑shifting chases, ancient magic and a story that has captivated Welsh audiences for generations.
After the tale, children can get creative with crafts inspired by the animals in the story, including colouring sheets and make‑your‑own masks – perfect for families looking for a relaxed, imaginative afternoon in the woods.
The event is part of Wales Nature Week and is for families and children aged 7+. It runs from 5pm to 6pm.
Book your free spot using this form.
