A mate on Twitter just shared this with me of a fire at the Pontnewydd Inn pub. The pub has been closed for a while and a planning application has been submitted to the local council to turn it into a Tesco Express.
In this photo you can see the smoke coming out of the building on the left just by the telephone box.
