Children in Cwmbran will have the chance to try their hand at DJing, breakdancing and graffiti art this month thanks to a free hip hop workshop taking place in Old Cwmbran.
The event, run by Hip Hop 12 in partnership with the Cwmbran Hip Hop Project and Pontypool Rap Quest, will be held on Wednesday 11 March 2026 at St Gabriel’s Church Hall on Clomendy Road. The workshops are open to young people aged 6 to 14.
Two sessions are available, allowing families to choose the time that suits them best.
- Workshop One: Drop‑off at 5pm, pick‑up between 6.25pm and 6.30pm
- Workshop Two: Drop‑off at 6.30pm, pick‑up between 7.55pm and 8pm
Organisers say children can be dropped off for their preferred session, with no booking required. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and trainers and bring a water bottle.
The project is funded by the Torfaen Progression Grant, working alongside the Canal and Rivers Trust, the Bridge 46 to Five Locks Canal Group, and community supporter Tracey Leake‑Jones.
