The annual memorial service for Cwmbran’s John Fielding takes place on Saturday 18 January at his graveside in St Michael’s & All Angels Church in Llantarnam.
He was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery during the Battle of Rorke’s Drift in 1879. Everyone is welcome to come along and watch the service starting at around 10.45am. It’s organised by Cwmbran and District Ex-Services Association (CADESA) and the trustees of the John Fielding Memorial Service.
