Nuffield Health Cwmbran is introducing a new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system to help ensure its car park is kept available for gym members and their guests.
A notice displayed in the club on Avondale Road explains that “Euro Car Parks will install a new ANPR System. All members & guests will be required to enter their vehicle registration within 15min of arrival. A tablet will be available on reception to enter your details.”
The change comes after ongoing concerns that spaces were being taken up by people not using the club.
A spokesperson for Nuffield Health said: “The car park at Nuffield Health Cwmbran Fitness & Wellbeing Club is private and is maintained by our team for the benefit of our members and guests. Following feedback from a number of members who have experienced difficulty finding parking when local events are running, we are introducing an ANPR parking management system to help ensure spaces remain available for those using the club.”
The spokesperson encouraged any members with questions to chat to staff in the club.
There will be a short period of approximately one month where anyone who doesn’t register their vehicle within 15 minutes will receive a warning letter.
