The lead singer of Cwmbran cover band No One Knows says Crow Fest is a “great thing for the community” and plans to “get everyone up dancing”.
Cwmbran Life chatted to Jonny Morgan about the all-day festival that is taking place on Saturday 20 July from 2pm to 10pm at Cwmbran Stadium.
The band describe themselves as an ‘amazing quintet of musicians, playing cover songs to suit any audience and any event’.
This interview was carried out thanks to the support of Cwmbran Community Council.
Jonny said they were surprised to get the call to ask them to play.
He said: “We feel that with such an event like this, it’s a privilege to play, especially in our home town as well. We didn’t think we’d be asked for it. There are so many bands around this area that are such good bands.
“We were over the moon.
It’s something that we ‘ve never done before around these parts. We’ve done the Big Event, but nothing like this.
“The last time I remember a concert being on Cwmbran Stadium was back in the 1990s. They had Status Quo and East 17 played as well.”
‘We’re full of energy’
Cwmbran Life asked him what the Crow Fest crowd can expect from No One Knows ?
“We try and play a bit of everything for everyone really, dating back to the 60s to the present.
“All crowd-pleasing and to get people dancing and coming away thinking ‘what a great show’.
“We’re full of energy. You get a good buzz from getting people up dancing.”
He said the price of tickets was “fantastic” and the line-up was was “diverse, nothing that plays the same music.”
And finally, why should someone buy a ticket for Crow Fest?
He said: “I think it’s a great thing for the community, get everyone together and celebrate live music, which we couldn’t get a few years ago.”
If you can’t wait until Crow Fest, you can watch No One Knows on Saturday 22 June at 4.30pm outside the Mount Pleasant pub in Old Cwmbran. They are followed by Natalie Kay’s soul and motown set from 8.45pm.

Tickets are £5.94 each (includes a 94p booking fee). A ticket for an adult with an under 18 is £7 (includes £1.01 booking fee).
Crow Fest is being organised by Cwmbran Community Council to celebrate the New Town’s 75th anniversary.
No One Knows will be joined by Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Gypsy Pistoleros, Appletree Theory, 2 Rude, Travis George, Tobias Robertson, Darren ‘Graceland’ Jones and Capital City Jazz.
Crow Fest- important information
Food and drink will be on sale. Anyone who looks under 25 will be asked for ID if they want to buy alcohol.
The festival is on the outdoor pitch so suitable footwear must be worn. High heels or chairs won’t be allowed. Festival goers are welcome to bring picnic blankets.
Crow Fest runs from 2pm to 10pm. Last entry 7pm.
